This April the Link theatre are inviting you to come and meet the people who are already close to your hearts… director Lea McCall and the Northam theatre group present Steel Magnolias – an amateur production by arrangement with origin theatrical – a play by Robert Harding.
Hilarious and touching, this play about six women is set in a beauty parlour in Louisiana. Through four scenes spanning three years the staff and customers engage in small-town gossip but we see a deep strength and purposefulness emerge when Shelby – a diabetic – prepares for a kidney transplant operation.
This heartwarming tale, that is one of most folks favourite movies, was actually a play first, and this story has something for everyone. You’ll certainly laugh, you might even cry, but you will definitely fall in love with these ladies and their lives.
